HUAWEI SMART PV WORKSHOP ON 27th FEBRUARY 2020

KVC Industrial Supplies is a leading and rising industrial supplier in Malaysia, founded in 1989. Today, headquartered in Bangi, Selangor. With our vision of helping customers to build, operate, optimize and enhance their assets every day, KVC formed a strategic alliance with the global No.1 Electrical Distributor- Sonepar as a strategic team to meet customer expectations.

On 27 February 2020, KVC and Huawei has collaborated together in organizing a half day “Smart PV Workshop” at Huawei HQ, Intermark Kuala Lumpur. The objective of this workshop is to introduce Huawei’s 2020 new PV solutions, which includes AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter), String level or Full Optimizer Solution, announcement of 450W new optimizer and PID Recovery solution. This year’s main selling objective of Huawei’s PV Solution is the emphasis on safety and the methods to mitigate risk of arc faults on users’ rooftop, hence the introduction of AFCI. Besides, the installation of optimizers on the panels are also capable of panel level shutdown of DC generation. The workshop is to educate customers on the importance of safety and the aftermath of solar rooftop accidents to the customers.

In order to increase the safety level for customer when using Huawei PV solutions on their rooftop. The features provided in the inverters are able to mitigate the risk of fire caused by DC arc fault. The new features have a few benefits where inverters have higher percentage of efficiencies, which means it is able to generate greater yield. Huawei has a leading industry efficiency which allows greater generation of electricity, saving more money. With the money saved over the years, users are able to purchase another unit of inverters. The inverters have greater voltage range, which means they start working very early in the morning and ends very late in the evening. As the inverters work for a longer time, it increases the yield thus increasing generation of electricity. Multiple number of MPPTs (Multiple Power Point Tracking) which allows the flexibility of solar system designing for client. Other strings in the same arrays are not affected due to isolation of shaded strings done by the MPPTs. Besides, Huawei PV Solution only allows maximum of 2 strings into one MPPT, which enables users to eliminate the usage of fuses in their system design, saving additional cost and minimizing the point of failure. Air cooling technology which decreases the need for maintenance which in turn increasing the reliability of inverters for long period of time. Lastly, its full optimizer solution which enables panel level shutdown when tendency of arc fault is detected. This solution also allows solar system designer to fully utilize maximum the clients’ rooftop despite the shading phenomena.

It was a fruitful workshop as this collaboration also saw numbers of attendance from various companies. The workshop was conducted successfully and wrapped up the day with a group photo.
