These efficiency levels apply to 2and 4-pole, three phase squirrel cage induction motors rated for 400V, 50Hz with S1 duty class with the output 1.1 to 90 kW, which account for the largest volume on the market. ABB uses class F insulation systems, which, with temperature rise B, is the most common requirement among industry today. The use of Class F insulation with Class B temperature rise gives ABB products a 25° C safety margin. It can also be used to extend insulation life.
