Long DescriptionI/O Conversion Modules provide a fast and efficient method for converting 1771 PLC-5 I/O to 1756 ControlLogix I/O. The I/O conversion is accomplished without removing any field wires from the existing swing arm, virtually removing the risk of wiring errors. The existing swing arms fit directly onto the edge connector of the conversion modules.The exothermic welding process is a method of making electrical connections of copper to copper or copper to steel in which no outside source of heat or power is required. In this process, granular metals (granular copper oxide and aluminium) are placed from a container into a graphite crucible and ignited. This process is a cost effective method of completing a high quality electrical connection and is also simple to follow.
