Long DescriptionThe Beckhoff CU2508 Real-Time Ethernet Port Multiplier enables the connection of up to eight independent 100BASE-TX Ethernet networks through a single Gigabit uplink to a control IPC. It ensures high-speed, synchronized data transmission by analyzing telegram prefixes and distributing data to each port with microsecond precision. Each received frame is timestamped and sent back to the PC, providing users with eight fully functional Ethernet ports featuring real-time performance. Designed for applications requiring multiple Ethernet interfaces external to the PC, the CU2508 supports communication via Ethernet (TCP/IP), EtherCAT, EAP (EtherCAT Automation Protocol), and Real-Time Ethernet under TwinCAT 3. Ideal for complex EtherCAT installations, it allows expansion of up to eight lines to meet high data throughput demands while maintaining synchronized distributed clocks. Multiple CU2508 units can operate simultaneously on a single controller to further increase network performance in advanced automation systems.
