The SMC-50™ Smart Motor Controller is a micro-processor based soft starter that is designed to maximize the efficiency of motor starts and stops. The SMC-50 controller uses six silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCRs) (two per phase) to vary the conduction period and control the voltage (torque) to the motor during starting, running, and stopping. The starter has many advanced power monitoring and motor/starter protection features to help increase overall reliability.
