ETHERCAT COUPLER FOR E-BU

The Beckhoff EK1100 EtherCAT Coupler connects EtherCAT networks at the fieldbus level with EtherCAT Terminals, converting Ethernet 100BASE-TX telegrams into E-bus signals for communication within the terminal system. It supports automatic detection of connected EtherCAT Terminals, displaying each individually in the process image for simplified configuration. Equipped with two RJ45 sockets, the upper port links to the network while the lower port enables the daisy-chaining of additional EtherCAT devices within the same segment. The unit supports line or star topology when used with EtherCAT junctions or extensions and allows connection lengths of up to 100 meters. Operating with a 24V DC system and field supply, the coupler provides up to 5V, 2A for communication power, while up to 10A can be supplied through power contacts for connected I/O components. Compact and versatile, the EK1100 supports up to 65,535 EtherCAT Terminals, ensuring flexible and efficient automation network integration.
