news and events / 201901 - Smart Water Solution for Water Treatment Plant in Negeri Sembilan

The demand for clean water rises as the population increases and these high demands can often cause water supply issues. Proper management of the natural resource and new water treatment plants that are equipped with modern systems are ways to solve the water supply problems.

KVC has completed a water treatment plant project in Negeri Sembilan. The project required for 4 units of 690VAC 900KW Low Harmonic Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) that complied with IEEE-519. KVC supplied a flexible Allen-Bradley solution in accordance with the customer’s specification which was to provide a solution that minimized the harmonic content generated by the VFD and prolong the lifespan of other electrical items under same source of power.

With this solution, the low harmonic VFD protects other sensitive electrical equipment under the same power source from behaving unpredictably as harmonics tend to affect the electrical system. The larger the VFD, the higher the impact of harmonics to other electrical items. KVC is proud to be able to supply the 690VAC Low Harmonic VFD system which performed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) successfully with the renting of a step-up transformer to supply 690VAC. The whole system comes with low harmonic capability together with IP54 panel.

KVC is able to consult on the project design and tailor the approach from the component level to a complete Smart Water Solution that complied with specifications. Parallel to our vision of helping customers build, operate, optimize, and enhance their assets every day, we are proud to offer the Smart Water Solution to help customers effectively manage their water treatment plants.
